Robert Satloff gets prestige award

Dr Robert Satloff, author of Among the Righteous: the Holocaust's long reach into Arab lands was yesterday awarded the prestigious Daniel Pearl award by the Anti-Defamation League in the US.

… "For his journalistic endeavors that unearthed long-forgotten stories from the Holocaust in Arab lands and for his probing insights into contemporary issues in the Middle East, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today honored Dr Robert Satloff with its prestigious ADL Daniel Pearl Award. Established in 2003, the award is named in honor of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and murdered in Pakistan while pursuing a story about international terrorism. "Dr Satloff (..) helped convince the German government to award compensation to Jewish survivors of labor camps in North Africa. An expert on Arab and Islamic politics as well as US Middle East policy, he has been executive director of The Washington Institute for Near East Policy since 1993."
